Qualtek’s Heat Treatment = Reliable Products
True Story
A large medical implant device company came to Qualtek with a challenge. They produce a stainless steel reaming rod and needed a heat-treating process that has very tight hardness and cleanliness requirements. We met that challenge by utilizing our state-of-the-art vacuum oven and designing a unique heat-treating process. The part then needed Passivation and Electro Polish FINISHING. The result was production of very large volume of product needed while meeting the client’s stringent supplier-audit protocol.

Qualtek Heat-Treating Quality

Qualtek uses state-of-the-art Rockwell hardness tester to quickly and accurately determine the hardness of heat-treated steel. For very small parts and for Carburized parts, Qualtek uses a special micro hardness tester. Samples for this device are encapsulated in resin, cross-sectioned and then the target small area is accurately measured for hardness.
